Taiyuan Second Youth Games Point Light Project: A City-Scale Canvas of Light
We brought the spirit of youth, energy, and celebration to life through light for the prestigious Taiyuan Second Youth Games. This monumental project transformed key urban structures into a breathtaking, dynamic canvas, projecting a captivating cartoon mascot across the façades of twin high-rise buildings and immersing the city in the games' vibrant atmosphere.
Our challenge was to create a high-resolution, seamless animation on an architectural scale. The solution was a technical tour de force: the deployment of an advanced lens-controlled point light source system. Comprising a staggering 1.5 million individual points managed by a sophisticated 512-control system, this setup allowed for unparalleled precision and reliability.
The result was a mesmerizing spectacle. The playful, large-eyed mascot character appeared to soar across the buildings, its mid-flight animation rendered with stunning clarity and smooth motion against the night sky. This innovative projection went beyond static lighting, creating a narrative visual experience that captured the imagination of athletes, visitors, and residents alike.
Project Highlights:
